I always wait for the end of the Men in Trees, I wait to hear something which will give me a strength for all week.

Doesn't matter what is it about: love, friendship, men...

If you will find some of the wise sentences, funny quotes... please share it with all.

Men in trees, s1e1

"The truest thing I know about relationships is that sometimes we don’t know anything at all. You can’t always get the one you want. And sometimes the one you get isn’t the right one at all. But if you have hope, the universe has a funny way of showing you exactly what you need.
The challenge is to let yourself be alone until the right one shows up. But you can’t hide either. Heart break sucks. But not having heart break sucks more. Trust the process. If you get yourself happy, you’ll find the right one. I believe this because against all odds, I am an optimist. And until every one of you finds the person you really want, I will be that optimist for you. I know it’s hard.
Some days you’ll want to kill yourself. But that’s the thing about love... if it were that easy, everyone would have it."

The valentines are coming. For every single heart. This is what Marin said.

MIT s1e3

"One of the hardest things about being single is the believing that you're worth something alone.
Too many single people sell themselves short.
Maybe there's a real value to figuring out who we are alone because we can't invest in someone really special... until we invest in ourselves.

Maybe being alone isn't something to be suffered through. Maybe it's something to celebrate. ... and sometimes the universe celebres with you.

And just because you don't have someone to share the celebration with, doesn't make it less beautiful."

Here are some more

"I guess there is no easy way to move on from a relationship, you cant flip the switch and suddenly be over it, because the road is really full of hidden holes, you can try and stay in a relationship, you can stay home and dream of the perfect unobtainable one but in the end it just takes time."

"Every day is another chance for you to decide who you want to be, a chance to challenge yourself to be a different version of you, a braver version, a person who isn’t afraid to grab joy and take it for a spin. Letting go is never easy because hanging onto the past it feels good, but sometimes its only when you let go that you can make room for the rest of your life to show up, but as hard as you think that it will be to leave the old you behind sometimes when you do is the most alive that you ever felt, standing at the jumping off point, is a weird feeling but not quaiet as weird as jumping into the ocean with a bunch of men. Sometimes when we are quaiet the aswears we have been waiting for find their way to us, we cant always use words to find our way trough the darkness, sometimes all you can hope for is some good conversation before you figuring it all out, and maybe when you have no words left atall you are right where you need to be, because sometimes is not until you stop talking the things really start."

From History Lessons

"History can be messy and painful but it's not our destruction. If we're lucky, it's our foundation. You just have to work your way through the mess to find what matters, to find the pieces of your past you still want to carry with you, and sometimes, if you have just the right view and just the right castle, you can build the foundation for your new history, all by yourself."

Good day, Elmo.
My partner and I were just talking about dreams.
I don't know about you, but sometimes I think dreams are the only things we have.
They help us escape the reality of our lives, but what if someone were to offer you the chance to turn things around and make a dream or two come true?
Would that be so bad? What do you think, Elmo? Is it wrong to make your fantasy a reality?

***

When fantasy meets reality, you never know what you're going to get.
Sometimes the reality falls just a little short of the dream... and sometimes it exceeds all expectations.
I don't argue like this with anyone... it takes courage to reveal your secret desires.
Sharing them is a gamble... that sometimes brings us closer together... and sometimes... pulls us apart.
maybe that old saying is true- "be careful what you wish for." It just might come true.

"Hello, Elmo. As most of you know, I'm waiting on Jack. And we may all need to wait on patrick.
It's his first day back on the air, so let's remember to be patient. It's a hard thing -- patience. But when something means enough to you,
whether you're waiting to regain your past or start your future, patience is going to be critical.
So, what do you think, Elmo?
What in your life's worth waiting for?"

"They say patience is a virtue... and like most virtues, we never know if we possess it until it's been tested. If we're lucky, we have someone to take that test with us. And if we can pass that test, if we can wait long enough, we just might find the reward greater than we ever expected.
The funny thing about waiting is it always seems, the more we want something...The longer we have to wait for it. Deciding to wait out the long haul shouldn't be taken lightly. But it's an easier decision to live with than others."

So I guess there's no easy way to move on from a relationship. You can't flip a switch and suddenly be over it...because the road really is full of hidden potholes. You can try staying in the relationship. You can stay home and dream of the perfect, unobtainable one. But in the end, it just takes time and some alaskan tap water... and the help of a town full of good men. Thanks for sleeping with me, elmo.

I searched for that... i watched this episode today...

so my question to you:

What do you think... what do we need to overtake the old memories and to move forward?

the answer is in the quote... kiss new people, make new memories...
personally I think that its better to not fight with it... the more you want to forget to the more it stuck in your head... let them be... make new memories
I think we can't really escape the past, its all around us and no matter what changes, the past is always part of us.
When I worry about something, my friend is telling me. Karina the past is behind, the future is not known, the present is now. Think only about what is now! Don't let the past make you miserable, and don't let the future increase your fear.

"Regret is a funny thing. You try your best in life to avoid it, but sometimes, it's the hard things in life that teach us the most...Which makes you wonder. If given the chance, how many of us would do things differently? For some, regret is the very thing that helps us push past our fear and move into the future. For others, it's the thing that allows us to re-explore our past. At its best, regret can be the catalyst for a new beginning... You'll find that life is still worthwhile Where anything and everything is still possible."

yeah i think a part oh the quote is the answer... but you can ask yourself, how can i make new memories without thinking about the past... and if you have to live now... how can you be so strong to forget thinking about the past, if the past is such an important part of you... it isn´t that easy to tell yourself... Yeah, live now not yesterday and not tomorrow... sometimes it took a long time to forget about the past, because the past leaves marks... which you can´t forget... and i wanted to know, what we can do that the first step forward isn´t hard with your marks...
i´m not sure... if i can express what i want to say...

not only You think like that. I have a lot of troubles... But I'm just trying to not make them my priority.
Life is now. As I wrote, don't try to forget the past, because it's impossible... all you can do is live... make new friends... new memories.
I quit my job even though I loved the people who I was working with. I do not regret, one day maybe I will but now... I'm making new friends... starting new things. IT'S NOT EASY, but worth to try.
it's never to late to set another goal or to dream a new dream. Past is in us, you can't change it, but don't live the past.
I know that it is easy to write. I know because even though I believe in it I can't do it easily. But making little steps... helps.

When I feeling like you now... I think about such people as Anne... There are no people who have easy life. I don't believe in it, because we all have some problems... some maybe bigger but we all... find a things that you are glad of.
I'm glad that I have 2 hands and 2 legs, that I can go anywhere I want, that I see and hear, that I live in a free country, I'm even glad that I can take an hour shower... because some people cant, Glad that I can write here, that I can study, I'm glad for having my friends, ... this all helping me a lot. Little things making our world better. You just need to see them.

"When Alaska was just a land of trees, tribes created community through barter beads for a fur,a canoe for a cow. Trading partners became friends. Friends became family. As far as I can tell, not much has changed up here. We're still giving and receiving -- an equal trade. When the system is working, both sides come away happy neither feeling like they've compromised but rather, getting something better in the deal. In those moments,we are just a community of people sharing... proving every day that it can be just as fulfilling to give as to receive... And sometimes, just as hard."

On Barbara Walter's pre-Oscar special, she kept hammering, as is her way, on Vanessa Williams' past, and I was very moved by the answer Williams gave to her & how she got her to stop asking the same questions in different words. Personally, it was meaningful to me to think about having to reach a point where you simply accept things, but accept them as a part of your past, and then move on.

Mirjam,

I wish I could give you a magical recipy and take all your bad memories away from you. I really whish I could.

I can only tell you that you are in the right path. I've met a lot of people who don't even wanna look into their past, and I believe that's wrong because sooner or later the "shit" comes up. You are in the right track.

Have faith! Faith is believing in something you cannot see at the moment, but you know it's there. Have faith!!!
Just keep going. I promise you'll be rewarded

Good day, Elmo. Or should i say good night?
I don't know about you, but this shortest day of the year has me completely turned around.
I'm having a hard time finding my way through the dark.
How do you guys do it? How do you see things clearly on your darkest day?

We're all a little in the dark when it comes to love. Sometimes you have to run away from it to see it clearly. And sometimes you have to come home to try it again. The optimists know that there is an endless amount of love to go around. The others of us can only hope we are not the ones left without a seat when the music stops. Even when you get what you want, at best, love is a shot in the dark. The chance to illuminate things about yourself you didn't know...
Like that you're not over someone yet. Or that maybe you will be after a very long, very dark night.

Thanks Ladybird
i know that there is no magic which can help me... but the fact that you worry about me is more worth than you think! i´ll try not to burden people with my problems because i realized that everybody has his/her own problems...My therapist told me today that it isn´t wrong to say: time heals wounds...but it isn´t right as well... first of all you have to open and clean the wound... then you can give it the chance to heal.
And sometimes the hardest burden is to realize where the wound is and what it is...
Today i tought about throwing stones (like Marin) from a hill/mountain or into a river..

I was thinking about it as well... but can't find such big stones to write something on it and can't find a mountain I could climb and throw away the stones I still don't have. Eh and there is no Jack to safe me if I get lost in a storm. But the idea is great. If I could I would... I swear.

At sometime I lost company with  Misery and don't want Misery to find me again.  Misery was like a rock that weighed me down...

For Marin the rock was the "Cranky" Rock and a bag full of other rocks and the "Jack" rock...

Marin didn't get to throw her rock off a mountain because there was a mountain.  The rock was part of a journey.  On that journey, she lost a friend, a fiance, a friend/lover, her home in New York and her "crowd" there, even her clothes.  Then she had to lose bein "Cranky" about losin.  I had to lose the "Misery" of losin...

So, still no mountain.  Marin had to gain all that she had lost.  Then lose bein "Cranky" about what she had lost.  She gained a new home, friends, Cash and then she began to desire to lose "Cranky" and take a walk in the woods and a climb up a tree. That meant she gained a Guru.  A Guru who found her sick with "Crankiness".  Getting rid of it would not be easy.  First her rocks of all that made her "Cranky" was Very Heavy.  Then, she had to carry it all by herself and climb a mountain to throw all that made her "Cranky" away.  Her journey started by leaving New York to make a new home in Alaska.  That's a long way to find a mountain.  Most of her rocks she threw away on the mountain.  The rocks that were the hardest to throw away, included "Jacks'" Rock...  Jacks' rock she took all the way to the top of the mountain before she could throw it away.  Not the end of it...  Suddenly she was lost without Jack and Jack was there as her friend when she needed him.  This allowed them to see how they had not lost all and allow for less crankiness and thankfullness.  It was Thanksgiving when all seemed lost.  They were able to save the best and lose the rest.

Maybe your Mountain isn't close, but to climb it isn't supposed to be easy.  It is not the mountain or the rock that is hard to find.  What is hard to find is the desire to actually throw away all that makes one "Cranky" and "Miserable" so that one can save the best and lose the rest.
