Extreme Veteran Posts: 505 ![]() Location: Poland | I'm looking... I'm looking everywhere... The google helps a lot. MIT s2e11 "So...hey... Patrick and I were just discussing the term "carpe diem," or "seize the day"... an idea so old it comes to us in latin. Live for today... don't let opportunity pass you by...just do it... which is all well and good. But what happens the day after you seize the day when you wake up and face the consequences? What do you think, my fellow elmoians? Given the choice, would you rather look or leap?" Marin - Okay,I have an idea. (...) Jack - I'm captain of the living room. "Moving to Elmo was one of those "seize the day" moments for me. The thing is, while alaska is beautiful to look at,I don't spend my days looking. I spend my days living. Like life anywhere,in Elmo, there is fighting. And there is making up. There is joy. And there is devastation. And once in a while, amidst all that, there will be brief flashes where everything just feels right - serenity. Kind of like a vacation. And while it's nice to go away, away wouldn't be nearly nice if you couldn't come home. " Edited by Karina 2008-03-17 12:35 PM

Extreme Veteran Posts: 505 ![]() Location: Poland | MIT S2E12 My friend Annie and I were just talking, as women do, and we got to wondering how can you really ever know where someone is coming from? People say it's important to listen, but how can you listen if nothing is being said? Tell me, Elmo in a relationship, do you have the right to remain silent? As children, we're taught to express ourselves. We're told to use our words... to be specific... and not to assume that others know how we feel. Because the truth is, it takes us saying things aloud to know what we need... ...To know what we feel ourselves. As adults, there are those times when words fail us. In times like these, we put our words away and show how we feel... because actions speak louder than words. And that saying a lot.

Elite Veteran Posts: 650 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Massachusetts | From "A Tale of Two Kidneys" Marin: It is rare to get the chance to actually save someone's life. For most of us, our days are filled with a series of smaller gestures... like a place to lay your head or a beer for a thirsty friend. Then there are times when life calls for a bigger gift, whether you give a fresh start to yourself or a second chance to someone else. But, at the end of the day, perhaps it is our small gestures that will add up to something big... to a life saved or at least a life bettered. Because sometimes the grandest gestures can be the smallest one of all.

I finally found it! :-) MIT S01E07 Sometimes it's easier to take care of strangers than the people you love. And then again, sometimes the people you love are strangers. And although it's tough at times you have to try to be honest. You have to try to be there for each other and you have to believe not just in love but in the people you love. Extreme Veteran Posts: 505 ![]() Location: Poland | MIT S02E14 "Hey, Elmo. Patrick and I were just discussing movie magic there's something about sitting down in a dark theater that lets you escape the reality of your own lives and live in the fantasy of someone else's story. But what if the cameras were turned on you? In the movie of your life, do you like what you see?"
"We all love to lose ourselves in a good movie. When I was a girl, I loved "the wizard of oz"... Especially the moment when Dorothy opens the door into that fantastic world. But once Dorothy appreciated how bright and beautiful everything was, she realized she had a bit of a mess on her hands. One of the classic examples of "be careful what you wish for." Spend five minutes in a fantasy and you just might find yourself wishing for your old life back. We miss what's right in front of us when we're busy looking over the rainbow. But sometimes it takes stepping into someone else's world to realize how much you love the life you have. Because no matter how magical the movies are, at the end of the day, there's no place like home."

It opens your eyes, takes your mind and body to new places. But what about the people who stay behind? How can we trust that you won't be seducedby these new sights and sounds? If you set something you love free, can you really trust that it will come back to you?" "Humans are born with the desire to roam the earth. We crawl, then walk, then run. all in an effort to move further away from where we came from -- from home. I know firhand the thrill of what changing one's surroundings can do for one's heart. And now I also know that sometimes staying home and letting others go can be its own fantastic journey. because when you let go of something, you make room for something else entirely. something you never expected. something that makes home seem like its own unexpected adventure. A trip where new treasures are found around every old corner. where the world and all its complexities come right to your doorstep. Because in the end, the power is not just with those who go away, but also in what they leave behind."

Some of us aren't used to opening up. It can hurt. But we do what we can for our guests. We try to be hospitable, giving them whatever they desire. Sometimes all you can do is help them feel better while they wait to return home. And soon enough, the guest is gone, leaving us to move the couch, do the laundry, go back to our lives as usual. If that's possible."

I thank you very much and if not... don't worry, doesn't matter ;) I have work to do too I have several story lines w/photos of the MEN IN TREES episodes.... Sally wants to put them on the internet What mine are missing is the end quote. there is a MEN IN TREES fan site with all of them and I don't have the web address... I am disappointed w/me about that too..... Skyview on Skydrive is where I will compile them... but only I can add to the site... Certainly Daniels' site: anneheche.com.fr in France is awsome and the photos won't be lost... the ABC MEN IN TREES site photos will be diappearin w/the show... do shows in reruns have a homepage at ABC? that will be the question. With Skyview on Skydrive I can save the photos to my computer and store them on Skyview on Skydrive... 5 GB for MEN IN TREES I have been using the site to show the weather in Elmo. Extreme Veteran Posts: 505 ![]() Location: Poland | S2E17 The mind is a funny thing. It's the place from which everything emanates, yet no one can access anyone else's, which means we've got to communicate. With animals, we use only the most straightforward language - words like "sit," "stay," "no." But between one another, things quickly get complicated. What we say is not always what we mean. and at times, we have to fight through mixed messages... Or start all over again. But no matter how hard it is and how often we feel misunderstood... It is our responsibility to keep fighting for clarity, because, in the end, we teach people how to treat us... Which means the responsibility to communicate lies not on the shoulders of others but on ourselves.

Expert Posts: 1465 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Finale: June 11, 08 Marins' last voiceover DIFFERS!!! IN THE SEEN AND SEEN ONLINE!!! Thanks to: SusanLovesMIT on ABC MEN IN TREES MESSAGE BOARD, LINK:http://abc.go.com/primetime/menintrees/index?pn=mb&cat=30893&tid=377863 I have watched both the televised version and the online version of "Taking The Lead". The alternate ending shown online not only has a different scene at the end, it has a slightly different voiceover too. Two thirds of the voiceover was the same but the final third differed. I have put both below in their entirety and italicized the portions that differ. Televised Version: We are the daughters of the Feminist Movement, taught from an early age that nothing can stop us, that we can rise as high and achieve as much as any man and in some ways that's true. We have taken great strides, stepping over traditional gender roles and going after and getting exactly what we want. But part of being powerful is knowing when to take the backseat and look at life from another perspective. Because the thing is, in a relationship, there is no CEO. It's a delicate dance, a push and pull, a back and forth, an up and down. But we endure because at the end of the day we don't want to go it alone. And when we find someone, a partner, we compromise, loving everything we can and putting blinders onto everything else. Because love isn't perfect, but it is the really great imperfect love that keeps us evolving, happy. And in the end, isn't that what life's all about? Online Version: We are the daughters of the Feminist Movement, taught from an early age that nothing can stop us, that we can rise as high and achieve as much as any man and in some ways that's true. And when we find someone, a partner, we compromise, and adjust and try to strike some kind of balance. And again the thing about balance, it's by nature a very precarious thing, which means that at any time, at any moment, something small can enter the picture and upset it forever.

Veteran Posts: 231 ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Poland | S02E18 There's an old saying what you don't know can't hurt you. But is that really true? Or can the things not said today haunt you tomorrow? Everyone knows the truth can be painful. But it can also set you free. It's a risk you take whenever you open yourself up to someone. I, for one, think that honesty is worth it. And who knows? You just might be pleasantly surprised.
